Unacceptable

Ron Klinger may be a hellova guy and a superb bridge player and writer. I’ll stipulate that. But it is totally unacceptable that when I click on what I thought would be a cool post, akin to Bob MacKinnon’s funny doubles article, I get told I have to join another site to view the post. Hell no. It’s like a squeeze page, where you can’t view the post until you provide all your data. No. Never. Stop it.
I agree. Up to now we have only picked up the feed to Ron’s blog which is free. There was never an intent to pick up any content that required you to join the site. We are going to sort this out but it may take a day or two. Our goal will be to still allow the blog content from Ron but not the “premium” content.
We are deleting the link to his column on the paid portion of his site and it should vanish when the change populates. There is nothing wrong with Ron Klinger deciding to provide material to paid members but it is not the purpose of this site to link to them. Unfotunately this link arrived as if it were his blog (which is free). We don’t know why that happened but since he hasn’t blogged since May 5th we are temporarily removing the feed to his blog until we sort it out.
Thanks Linda, and I concur that he can do what he wants and sell content too. I just didn’t like the misdirect. Interestingly, Selling subscription sites is becoming the fastest growing internet money making fad.
