Yee Haw, Curtis Improving

I was devastated to hear from a bridge friend that Curtis Cheek had contracted Swine Flu and was in big trouble. I am so happy to hear from Memphis MOJO’s blog that he is recovering. Whew! I would have posted this there but one has to sign up for that thing to do so. Please feel free to post comments below for MOJO and Curtis. Yea! Go Curtis!

Chris:

Bobby and I left Sao Pauo before we got wind of Curtis’ illness. Patty Mangus, who remained there with Curtis’ finacee, family (who flew in) and partner Joe Grue, has been emailing reports to a long list of interested friends. They are usually received every two to three days. The early ones were devastating and the situation was dismal — potential loss of life, limb, toes,
etc. However, I am ecstatic to report that the current ones (one just received from Sue Grue
who keeps us informed) was very optimistic and the best one to date Prayers do work and
we hope his good fortune continues. In bridge players’ language, he was very much below average when the story came to light and if things continue (even slowly), we expect to see him right up there in the money when he makes a fully recovery. It sounds like a long upward battle but with the love and support of dear ones watching over him 24/7 and God’s help, we hope to be see Curtis back at the table one of these days.
